Montréal Hosts the World’s Elite Short Track Athletes for the Season’s Final Showdown
Canada is host to the fastest skaters in the world. The 2026 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Championships will also be held in Quebec, known as one of the most legendary locations in this sport, with the event taking place in the Maurice-Richard arena between March 13 and 15.
It is only three weeks after the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics that the elite athletes on the planet head back to the ice in the final season. This is an exciting and one time, in the life of the Canadian fans, to support their Olympic champions in their home country.

Montreal also has a rich and festive tradition of international speed skating where the World Championships have been hosted in 1987, 2002, 2014, 2018 and 2022. - Steven Dubois: World champion in the 500m twice and a heavyweight in relay events. Dubois possesses an explosive pace and tactical genius that would make him a podium threat on a regular basis.
- Courtney Sarault: the best female competitor of Canada, Sarault is an all round and technically talented skater who has always competed with the best of the world. The city of Montreal would be an ideal place to end an outstanding season with a medal.
- Canadian Men Relay Team: The Canadian men relay team is one of the most winning relay teams in the history of the sport and is always a favourite to win gold in their competitions and an event worth watching as a fan.
